Dream Team

Dream Team

I never cease to be amazed by the power of teamwork that happens on volunteer trips like this. While I haven't gotten the chance to interact with the Regis alumni trip in the past, it was evident that everyone was willing to be super adaptive and work as a unit to make dreams come true. Today, I got to be a part of the team helping to teach a little girl how to walk with 3D-printed prosthetic legs. I felt so lucky to get to see one of the final iterations of these prosthetics, especially after seeing the hard work that Deb and Matt put in to make this project happen. When the prosthetics were laced and our patient stood up, you could feel the energy in the room shift to pure joy. Everyone was so excited to witness such a cool scene, and our patient was so excited to keep playing with her new legs on. While there is certainly going to be a ton more work to put into making these prosthetics even better over time, I feel so appreciative of the opportunity to work alongside all of the volunteers to make this moment happen. It was clearly a once-in-a-lifetime moment for a lot of people in the room, and I know I'll never forget it!
