Nalleli Flores Robles
Hi! My name is Nalleli Flores Robles.
I’m a Colorado native, born and raised in the small town of Fort Morgan. My family’s roots, however, run deep through the lands of Jalisco and Zacatecas, Mexico. I’m a third-year student studying Neuroscience and Peace & Justice, and I’m on a journey to find a career that allows me to work on the clinical side of the medical field while also serving as a humanitarian. I was drawn to this project because it reminded me that those of us who never have to worry about access to healthcare have a responsibility to use our skills to serve others who might not be in the same situation. This project also connects deeply to my faith, as I’ve learned that the gift of medicine is meant to help everyone we encounter, no matter who they turn to in their time of need. I can’t wait to be in Cobán and visit Ciudad de Esperanza to meet the people who have opened their hearts to us and to learn from their culture, wisdom, and way of life through this beautiful and meaningful experience.
